Wilmington Island Harbormaster, Leon (Bubba) Strickland, has been in the marina industry since 1996. During his 28 years on the water, he has had the pleasure of operating a 280-slip-dry stack community-based marina. The advantage of being on a small island that leads to the mouth of the Atlantic Ocean is everyone knows everyone, especially Bubba. Bubba enjoys hosting events for different charity and nonprofit causes in the area, and he strives to hire employees from the local youth and college-age community.
